Haraveri Botanical Garden

It is an in situ botanical garden; it develops at 11 hectares (27 acres). It´s one of the two botanical gardens in Mexico that protects the cloud forest.

It has 286 species of flora distributed in 86 families, 19 species are under protection according to NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2019, 30 species in the IUCN Red List and 22 species in CITES. In addition, 63% species has ethnobotanical uses.

Preserving Biodiversity

The garden has unique and varied micro habitats; it has cloud forest and pine-oak forest.

Location

The Haravéri botanical garden is located at the north-western of Neovolcanic axis at the Sierra Madre, develops in 11 hectares, the terrain is rugged and runs from 776m to 1,080m.

It presents a humid climate with dry winter and spring, without well-defined winter thermal change. The average annual temperature is 18.7° C and has an annual rainfall of 1,441.6 millimeters with rainfall from June to October.
